Welcome to FreeFromMoney.net!
About this Site
The original plan was for this to be simply a personal finance blog, but then I began to think that becoming free from money would require more than just a few tips for saving money and paying off debt. After all everyone knows the steps to becoming debt free, right? Create a budget and spend less than you make. But who follows those steps seriously? Budgeting is hard. Spending less than you make and having the disciple to save is hard. I know because I am going through the process right now.
Becoming free from money requires you to evaluate your habits and how you live your life. I will cover productivity and organization ideas to help you find more time through the day. Less time spent doing the things you dread means more time doing the things you love. I also hope to touch on career development ideas, since making more money at work almost always helps in the end.
Why the name Free From Money?
Most people want to be rich, but what does that really mean? If you make millions of dollars, but spend every dime of it, are you really rich? Being free from money means not being a slave to your job. It means you don’t live paycheck to paycheck. It means working hard to achieve your goals, but still being able to take the time to enjoy life. Being free from money requires you to take control of your life, live within your means, and build up passive income now so that you don’t have to work for it later.
About Me
My name is Rich (short for Richard, I’m not trying to make a pun), and I created Free From Money as a journal of my path towards financial freedom. At the very least it will help me become a better writer and to keep track of my thoughts and progress. But I hope that my site finds readers who might be going through the same things that I am. If I can help one other person out then this site is a success.

What makes you qualified to give financial advice? (My disclaimer)
Like most people in this world I make money and spend money. I try to maximize the former and minimize the latter, and my efforts to do so are what I share.
I am not a professional financial advisor. This site reflects my personal ideas and thoughts, and although I hope that my advice is general enough to help a broad group of people, without knowing your specific situation I can’t guarantee that my advice is right for you. Please consider risk when making any financial decision for yourself. Just as you are personally responsible for your triumphs in life, you are equally responsible for the bad decisions. Now with that out of the way enjoy the site!
